This year, we're taking spring cleaning to a whole new level, introducing an inviting coastal facelift that promises an unparalleled escape right in the heart of Midtown Atlanta.
How Did We Get Here?
Park Tavern is known as a place and space for community in the heart of Piedmont Park. This year, owner Paul Smith turned to one of our talented customers and friends, Angelika Taylor.
Who is Angelika Taylor?
Angelika is a Realtor with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty and an interior designer. With over 25 years of interior design experience Angelika has an eye for beauty, detail, and knows how to enhance any space. Angelika's talents benefit all her clients. Whether they are looking to sell their home, buy a house, or redecorate their living space, Angelika makes their visions become a reality. When Paul asked Angelika to revamp the Park Tavern space Angelika knew right away that a beach boho vibe was the transformation Park Tavern needed.
“I was honored when Paul asked me if I would be the designer for Park Tavern’s new facelift - I was honored. When he told me what his vision was for the new look and vibe, I was so excited because I have always wanted Park Tavern to go beachy. I could see it. I have imagined it in my mind a million times. I was 100% the one for this job because “beachy” is my love language. I immediately got to work and started planning.
To me, Park Tavern already has all the bones for bohemian beach. With lots of incredible wood, vaulted ceilings, and outdoor ambiance. Paul and I sat in a dozen areas of the restaurant during the day and evenings to experience every vantage point. I wanted Park Tavern to have a unique curated look. Lighting is the best way to make an enormous impact. It sets the tone for all the other design elements. Designing Park Tavern was a layering process. I spent time finding just the right lighting fixtures for the restaurant. The lighting is all handmade and one-of-a-kind. “beachy-boho” was instantly elevated by a new intimate party room filled with new teak furniture and macrame privacy curtains. Cedar slated walls added texture and emission and made it feel like an island resort. I upgraded one of the patio bars by custom painting it using real palm fronds. I even installed a vibrant fun Instagram wall for the best photo ops in the city. I had so much fun finding the perfect decor items. The existing furniture got gussied up as well.”

Cabana-Style Nooks and Greenery: Picture yourself lounging in cabana-like nooks, surrounded by lush palm trees and vibrant greenery. Unique handmade lighting and ceiling fixtures. Macrame curtains add a touch of whimsy and relaxation, making it the perfect spot for gatherings of all sizes, from intimate moments with loved ones to lively celebrations with friends and furry companions.
A Refreshed Menu: The Park Tavern menu also received a mini makeover in line with our coastal boho theme. Expect southern favorites like po boys, lions mane mushroom and cremini burgers, the PT shroom and mushroom burger, and lighter options including salads and vegetarian options. Of course, the Tavern menu continues to serve up your bar favorites like wings, burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. Our updated beverage menu includes thirst-quenching cocktails and sober curious libations that are as refreshing as a cool ocean breeze.
